Fish Report

Last of Season

It seems that winter has arrived in the Eastern Sierra. With the last round of storms, we have seen the Caddis get fewer and the Midge and Baetis numbers rise. If the daytime temps get into the 60s we will still see a few Caddis but as the temps get colder and the cloud cover increases, it will be all about the Baetis and Midges.

The Best Caddis patterns have been the Fertile Caddis, Para grey Caddis, the Para Caddis emerger, EC Caddis, Low profile Caddis, Henry's fork Caddis and of course the Hot Creek Caddis. The Baetis patterns working well right now are the Para Baetis, Sparkle Dun, CDC Dun and the CDC Baetis Emerger as well as the Para Adams, Baetis sprout and CDC Baetis emerger, all in sizes 20 and 22. The Midge patterns working the best are #22 Brooks sprout Midge, #24 0r 26 Para Adams and the #22 Grifith's gnat.

The fly shop is well stocked with all of the best flies, leaders, tippet, gink, powder shake, and most anything else you will need to make the best of you day on the water. We also carry Tee shirts, Simms fishing shirts and hats, sun gloves, buffs and nets. For those of you who are new to spring creek fishing or might just want a "tune up", we have the best guides in California to make it all happen.

Don't forget about the November "Rod Fee" Fishing! From November 8-22 we will be allowing 10 rods on the water per day from 10 AM to 4 PM for only $100.00 per rod. The fishing can be insane!! Give us a call to find out more.
