Fish Report

Here we are at the end of July and fishing is still fabulous! Things have been getting starting a little before 8 AM using size 22 to 24 Female Trico patterns. The Trico Spinner fall starts around 9:00 or 10 and the fish have been keying on them pretty well for an hour or so with the males hatching just before dark. The Beatis hatch is still hanging on mid-day with some days being stronger than others and some days almost non-existent. We are seeing great Caddis Migrations between 7:30 and 12 with the actual hatch happening mid to late afternoon and the fish have really been on them! The best patterns right now are the E.C. Caddis, the Para Caddis Emerger, Para Caddis Grey, Low Profile Caddis and the Hot Creek Caddis all in #’s 18 to 22.
The PMD’s and Sallies never really got going this year and are all but over. We are seeing lot’s of Grasshoppers now that it is getting hot during the day, so make sure you try Hoppers before and after the hatches, especially in the afternoon if it blows. Don’t forget about the Beatle!
The quality of the fish on the ranch is incredible right now. We are seeing many fish in the 14 to 18 range and they are very healthy!
We have all of the flies that you will need in our fly shop as well as fishing shirts, Tee shirts, hats, fly lines, leaders, tippet, nets and most anything else that you might need. We even have women’s fishing shirts this season!
For those of you who may not have reservations, keep your eye on the web site under “availability”, we sometimes get cancellations and we would love to have you join us here at one of the most incredible dry fly fishing destinations anywhere.
The fishing is great and we can't wait to see you here at the ranch!

Have fun and please take care of the fish!!
