Fish Report  5/1/2024

Thank Goodness, we finally had a NORMAL winter. The end of April snow reports showed an average snowpack, which is great news for Hot Creek. The flows are at 60 today, up from 53 a last week. Last year at this time the creek was already flooded and we had 3 feet of snow on the ground. On the warm, sunny days last week, we saw many rising fish, but after the winter storm we had on Friday, the hatches have dwindled a bit. The dry fly fishing was very tough on Saturday so I allowed folks to go under and it has been really fun. Bring all of your flies as we determine rules on a day to day basis.  We still have plenty of Baetis and Midges and are starting to see some dark Caddis as well. This is shaping up to be a GREAT season and we look forward to seeing you on the water!

As always, our little fly shop is well stocked with all of the best flies, leaders, tippet, gink, powder shake and most anything else you will need to make the best of your day on the water.
For those of you who may be new to spring creek fishing or could just use a little tune-up, we have some of the best guide in California to make it all happen.
We look forward to seeing you here at Hot Creek Ranch!
